ドンキーコング64 |
This game was truly ahead of its time due to being an Open World-game in which you can play with various characters (instead of only one or two). By the standards of that time, it also had a magnificent graphic as well as an innovative game-play.
I've mostly played with Chunky Kong due to his coolness. He was one of my childhood heroes too. A fortiori, it's disappointing that he didn't appeared in other games anymore heretofore. Reasons enough for me to desire a remake of the classical game Donkey Kong 64.
WHYChunky hadn't appeared again since Donkey Kong 64?! |
Not only the graphic (by implementing the newest engine of today's Open World- and Adventure-games) but also the game play-components could be improved many times over and flaws could be removed. And of course, more features which shall be added.
But at first, here are three big flaws which should immediately be eradicated:
1. The invincibility of the Robotic Fish
Do you still remember that robitic fish from the Level Gloomy Galleon? Destroying its inner circuits within the defined time limit was a physical impossibility. No matter how fast you were, you couldn't make it. So, you hadn't no choice but to cheat but I never didn't cheat in this game and to be honest, it's not necessary.
Anyone here who was not tired about trying to beat the Robotic Fish? |
The justifiably detested arcade machine |
Were you also very tired about beating that arcade machine twice in order to get the Nintendo coin which is - along the Rare coin - required for getting the last key? In order to free K. Lumpsy from his cage who paves for you the way for the long-desired final boss fight against King K. Rool?
Why they didn't implement another option for receiving the Nintendo coin?
The Nintendo-coin and the Rare-coin |
3. Keeping track within this game
Who can relate with this: You hadn't played a game for a long time (no matter if days, weeks, months or years) and when you play it, you must work your way into this game again because you lost track of it?
This is also noticeable in Donkey Kong 64 because you don't know - for example - anymore where you have to find Golden Bananas or other items. And before you shout: "But you can also look in a player's guide or watch Let's Play-videos". But I answer: For instance, in the Super Mario-games, you can keep the track, even you hadn't played them for a long time because you are able to easily figure out where to find Stars, Shine Sprites or Moons (according to which game). Why it wasn't that easy in Donkey Kong 64 too?
Thus, I wish more and more that the transparency was increased in a remake of Donkey Kong 64 so that you don't have to work your way into this game again and again when you didn't play it for a long time.
And here are the features which shall be implemented in a remake:
Kiddy Kong who debuted in the SNES-game Donkey Kong Country 3. An ultimate enrichment for Donkey Kong 64, huh? |
- Implementing he character Kiddy Kong as playable character. And you have to free him in the level Frantic Factory- just like his older brother Chunky. Of course, by implication, more Golden Bananas and Banana Coins have to be collected. The Kiddy Kong related Bana Coins should have a white color. And his special ability should be the extension of his arms. Furthermore, the munition of his weapon should be star fruits.
- All characters (even the NPCs) should take (instead of just displaying subtitles and speech bubbles). Only two audios should be utilized: Japanese and English.
- Moreover, DLCs should be definitely released.
- Instead of musical instruments, the playable characters should use distance attack or the like for defeat the enemies in range by kinda one hit. This would be more action-like.
Now, I ask you: Do you also wish a remake from this game? Are there more retro games from which you desire a remake? Don't hesitate writing it in the comment section below.
PS: As for Dixie Kong, it would be too difficult implementing her without having the same move-set like her younger sister Tiny. Thus, it's not that easy to give her an individual move-set.
