My first impressions of Osaka

I can't still believe it that my dream of being on vacation in Japan has become true. And not only in Tokyo but also in Osaka.

And this is the Japan vacation's Part 2 where my brother and I were in Osaka from the 11th September to 17th September 2019.

Without further ado, up to the adventures which my brother and I experienced in Osaka:

Day 8 (2019/09/11)
By the express train Shinkansen, we moved foward from Tokyo to Osaka. We arrived at 12:30h at the station and took a taxi which brought us to our hotel. But not a hotel from the chain Candeo Hotels but from the chain Toyoko Inn.

Our first dinner in Osaka took place in the pizzeria G. Baccano. My brother as well as I chose the sort quattro formagi, i.e. that pizza with four various kinds of cheese. Despite being delicious, the pizza's strong smell was kinda annoying. But never-mind.

Day 9 (2019/09/12)
For our first adventure in Osaka, we went to one of the main tourists' areas, Dōtonbori. We took part on a boat cruise on the river nearby the Dōtonbori bridge. Really cool in an unexpected way!!!
After the cruise, we moved forward to another quarter: Shinsekai, a further tourist area

Later the day, we ate in the Café-Restaurant Vitti for dinner. Therein, I've eaten Okonomiyaki for the first time of my life. It was sooo delicious!!!

Day 10 (2019/09/13)

The Kaiyukan, the best aquazoo I ever visited.

On that day, we visited the aquazoo Kaiyukan being located in the Tempozan harbour at the Osaka Bay. The entire, multifarious fauna in the  Kaiyukan is really fascinating. Not even the Sea Life in Germany is a match for the Kaiyukan.
In the in-house cafe, I ate a soft ice cream with vanilla and ramune flavour. Everyone who tried a ramune flavoured food or beverage can relate with what I'm referring to. So, why is ramune not (that) widespread here in Germany too?!

Then, we went to the Tempozan Market Place, something like a light version of a mall. There is also a store selling Pokémon-merchandise too but it ain't a Pokémon-Center. However, I bought therein two plush figures: my favourite Pokémon Mewtwo and my favourite Eeveelution Umbreon.

Furthermore, we participated on a cruise by a former pirate ship being called Santa Maria. Cruising by that kind of ship was an ultra interesting experience. How exciting!!!
After that cruise, we went to the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, a ferris wheel also being located at the Tempozan harbour. From that ferris wheel, you have a magnificent view too.

All in all, the Osaka Bay (including the Tempozan harbour, along with the tourist attractions) is definitely a must-visit for everyone who is in Osaka for vacation. It's really worth it!!!

Day 11 (2019/09/14)

The Osaka Station City

We explored the Osaka Station which is a mixture between a train station and a mall. I'm not referring to a train station's main passage but to a mall within a train station. Thus, it's unparalleled.
There is also an outdoor area, in the 10th as well as in the 11th flour from which you have a good view too.

Later that day, we eat in the Pakistan restaurant Ali's Kitchen for dinner. I was ultra impressed and the restaurant owner's kindness is top-notch!!!
By the way, it was the first time I've eaten Pakistan dishes - and I would like doing it every day.

Osaka Castle

Day 12 (2019/09/15)
On that day, we went to the famous Osaka Castle which was built during the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1573-1603), i.e. the era of the three country unification pioneers. That castle was built within the lifetime of Hideyoshi Toyotomi who had handled Japan's military expansion and who was the 2nd of the three unification pioneers.
Of course, we entered the castle itself too and from above, you have also a magnificent view.
Even the castle walls' quality is remarkable in view of the fact that they were built within an era long before the Industrialization which began just during the Meiji period (1868-1912). And they're still intact to the present day.

Furthermore, we took part on a road train tour in the area nearby the castle and moreover, on a boat cruise too. Within the boat cruise's frames, we could observe the castle walls more exactly. The walls' consistency always astonishes someone afresh!

Later, we ate once more in the Cafe-Restaurant Vitti for dinner. And this was delicious again!!!

Day 13 (2019/09/16)
One more time, we went to the place Dōtonbori. At first, we went to a nearby BIC Camera-branch where I bought a bentō box. And this is a special one where you can attach the enclosed chop sticks. Moreover, you can put the divider in any desired position  
Then, we went to the cafe Shitamachi no tokei dai where we ate parfaits. I chose the ramune parfait. As already mentioned, I love the ramune's sparkling flavour. Thus, it's not surprising that the ramune parfait was the superlative culinary delight of the century!!!
Subsequently, we participated on the boat cruise of the Tombori River Cruise again and it was so exciting like the first time.

For lunch, we ate vegetarian corn dogs but there are two kinds of them

• Cheese Dog (mozarella cheese), chosen by myself
• Cheese Potato Dog (mozarella cheese with potatoes), chosen by my brother.

So delicious!!!

Later the day, we ingested our last dinner in Osaka (and logically our last dinner in Japan) at Ali's Kitchen. It was definitely the right decision ingesting therein the last meal in Japan.

Then, we packed our back because one day later, our return to Germany was due. 

Day 14 (2019/09/17)/Last Day
After a short breakfast, we took a taxi which brought us to the airport Osaka-Itami. From there, we took an airplane at 11:00h to Tokyo-Haneda where we arrived at 12:15h. Then again, we took a further airplane for our return to Germany. That flight lasted 10 hours and 50 minutes. We arrived at 18:15 (Central European Time) in Germany.

Two days later, I've entirely recovered from the jet lag.

Conclusion: The Japan vacation was the best vacation I ever had. It's really astonishing how much adventures you can experience within two weeks.
Of course, I wanna go to Japan again. I miss Japan so much.

Special-Post: Mein erstes Mal in Japan, Teil 2 - Osaka

Meine ersten Eindrücke von Osaka

Immer noch kaum zu fassen, dass mein Traum, in Japan Urlaub gemacht zu haben, wahr geworden ist. Und das nicht nur in Tokyo, sondern auch in Osaka.
Hier gelangt ihr noch mal zum Teil 1, also den Abenteuern in Tokyo vom 04.09.-10.09.2019, falls ihr den entsprechenden Post noch nicht gelesen habt:

Und das ist Teil 2 des Japan-Urlaubs, als mein Bruder und ich vom 11. September bis zum 17. September 2019 in Osaka waren.
Ohne jetzt groß rumzuschnacken, nun zu den Abenteuern, die mein Bruder und ich in Osaka erlebt haben:

Tag 8 (11.09.2019)
Mittels des Expresszug Shinkansen fuhren wir von Tokyo aus nach Osaka. Um ca. 12:30 Uhr kamen wir in Osaka an und nahmen vom Bahnhof aus einen Taxi, der uns direkt zum Hotel brachte. Doch diesmal war es nicht ein Hotel der Kette Candeo Hotels, sondern Toyoko Inn.

Das erste Abendessen in Osaka: Käsepizza

Unser erstes Abendessen in Osaka fand in der Pizzeria G. Baccano statt. Sowohl mein Bruder als auch ich nahmen die Sorte Quattro formagi, d.h. die Pizza mit vier verschiedenen Käsesorten. Obgleich sie sehr lecker war, hat mich der starke Geruch ziemlich gestört. Aber was soll's.

Tag 9 (12.09.2019)
Unser erstes Abenteuer in Osaka fand im Dōtonbori statt, welches zu den Haupttouristengebiete Osakas gehört. Dort machten mein Bruder und ich auf dem Fluss an der Dōtonbori-Brücke eine Bootstour. Unerwartet cool!!!
Nach der Bootstour begaben wir uns zum Viertel Shinsekai, welches eine weitere große Touristengegend ist.

Noch am selben Tag gingen wir in dem Café-Restaurant Vitti zu Abend essen. Dort habe ich das erste Mal in meinem Leben Okonomiyaki gegessen. Es war sooo lecker!!!

Tag 10 (13.09.2019)

Der Kaiyukan, der beste Aquazoo, in dem ich jemals war.

Ein Vanille-Ramune-Softeis

An dem Tag ging es zu einem Aquazoo namens Kaiyukan, welches sich auf dem Tempozan-Hafen an der Bucht von Osaka befindet. Die gesamte, vielfältige Fauna im Kaiyukan faszinierte mich stark. Nicht mal der Sea Life in Deutschland können mit dem Kaiyukan mithalten.
In dem hauseigenen Café aß ich auch ein Softeis mit Vanille- und Ramune-Geschmack. Jeder, der mal irgendwas mit der Geschmacksrichtung Ramune gegessen bzw. getrunken hat, weiß, wovon ich rede. Warum ist Ramune auch hier in Deutschland nicht (so sehr) verbreitet?!

Anschließend gingen wir zum Tempozan Market Place, einer Mini-Maul. Dort gibt es auch einen Laden, der Pokémon-Merchandise verkauft, aber es war kein Pokémon-Center. Aber dort habe ich direkt zwei Plüschfiguren gekauft: eins von meinem Lieblingspokémon Mewtu und eins von meiner Lieblings-Evolition Nachtara.

Des Weiteren machten wir auch eine Schiffstour mit einem ehemaligen Piratenschiff namens Santa Maria. Mit einem Schiff dieser Art zu cruisen, war wahrlich eine sehr interessante Erfahrung. Voll aufregend!!!
Nach besagter Schiffstour begaben wir uns zum Tempozan Ferris Wheel, einem Riesenrad, der sich auch auf dem Tempozan-Hafen befindet. Von diesem Riesenrad aus hat man auch eine mega gute Aussicht.

Summa summarum ist die Bucht von Osaka (inklusive des Tempozan-Hafens, mitsamt der Touristenattraktionen) definitiv ein Must-Visit für jeden, der sich, im Rahmen des Urlaubs, in Osaka befindet. Es lohnt sich wirklich!!!

Tag 11 (14.09.2019)

Die Osaka Station City

Wir erkundeten die Osaka Station, welches eine Mischung aus Bahnhof und Mall ist. Und ich rede nicht von einer Hauptpassage im Bahnhof, sondern von einer Mall in einem Bahnhof ergo ist es sondergleichen.
Dort gibt es, im zehnten sowie im elften Stock, auch einen Außenbereich, von dem man auch einen guten Ausblick auf die Gegend hat.

Noch am selben Tag gingen wir in dem pakistanischen Restaurant Ali's Kitchen zu Abend essen. Es hat mich so mega beeindruckt und auch die Freundlichkeit der Betreiber ist 1A!!!
Und nebenbei, es war das erste Mal, dass ich mal pakistanisch essen war - und das würde ich am liebsten jeden Tag essen.

Tag 12 (15.09.2019)
An dem Tag begaben wir uns zur berühmten Osaka-Burg, welches in der Azuchi-Momoyama-Zeit (1573-1603) errichtet wurde. Diese Epoche war auch das Zeitalter der drei Reichseiniger und diese Festung entstand zu Zeiten von Hideyoshi Toyotomi, der für die militärische Expansions Japans sorgte und der zweiten der drei Reichseiniger war.
Natürlich waren wir auch in der Burg selbst drin und von ganz oben hat man ebenfalls eine mega gute Aussicht.
Bemekenswert ist auch die Beschaffenheit der Burgmauern, vor allem, wenn man bedenkt, dass sie lange vor der Industrialisierung errichtet wurden, die erst in der Meiji-Zeit (1868-1912) begann. Und die sind bis heute noch intakt.

Des Weiteren machten wir eine Tour mit der Road Train im Bereich um der Festung herum und obendrein sogar eine Bootstour. Im Rahmen der Bootstour konnten wir die Burgmauern sogar noch näher und genauer betrachten. Die Beschaffenheit der Mauern erstaunt einen immer wieder aus Neue!

Später fand einmal mehr unser Abendessen im Café-Restaurant Vitti statt. Und es war auch voll lecker!!!

Tag 13 (16.09.2019)
Einmal mehr gingen wir zum Dōtonbori. Zunächst gingen wir zur nahegelegenen BIC Camera-Filiale, wo ich mir dann eine Bentō-Box kaufte. Und das ist sogar eine, woran man die beilegenden Essstäbchen befestigen kann. Des Weiteren kann man sogar die Trennwand beliebig positionieren.
Anschließend gingen wir zum Café Shitamachi no tokei dai, wo sich jeder von uns ein Parfait gönnte. Ich entschied mich für den Ramune-Parfait. Wie bereits erwähnt, liebe ich den prickelnden Geschmack des Ramune. Daher ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass das Ramune-Parfait ein superlativer Gaumenschmaus war!!!

Darauf hin machten wir wieder die Bootstour ihm Rahmen der Tombori River Cruise, die genauso aufregend wie beim ersten Mal war.

Zum Mittagessen gönnten wir uns vegetarische Corn Dogs, wobei davon zwei Varianten zu unterscheiden sind:

• Cheese Dog (Mozarella Cheese), welchen ich gewählt habe
• Cheese Potato Dog (Mozarella Cheese mit Kartoffeln), für den sich mein Bruder entschied.

Auch voll deliziös!

Noch am selben Tag gingen wir wieder bei Ali's Kitchen zu Abendessen. Und logischerweise war es nicht nur unser letztes Abendessen in Osaka. Es war auch die richtige Entscheidung, dort unsere letzte Malhzeit in Japan abzuhalten.

Danach packten wir schon mal unsere Koffer, weil es am Tag danach auf den Heimweg nach Deutschland ging.

Tag 14 (17.09.2019)/Letzter Tag
Nach einem kurzen Frühstück nahmen wir einen Taxi, der uns zum Flughafen Osaka-Itami brachte. Von dort aus nahmen wir den Flieger um 11:00h nach Tokyo-Haneda, wo wir um 12:15h ankamen. Von dort aus wiederum nahmen wir dann letztlich den Flieger, der uns nach Deutschland brachte. 10 Stunden und 50 Minuten dauerte der Flug. Um ca. 18:15 (Mitteleuropäische Zeit) kamen wir dann in Deutschland an.

Nach zwei Tagen konnte ich mich vom Jet Lag komplett erholen.

Fazit: Der Japan-Urlaub war der beste Urlaub, den ich jemals hatte. Was man innerhalb von zwei Wochen alles erleben kann, ist ziemlich erstaunlich.
Ich möchte definitiv irgendwann wieder nach Japan. Ich vermisse Japan sehr.

Special Post: My first time in Japan, Part 1 - Tokyo

Edit 2021/9/21: Meanwhile, the restaurants "Taizan Sakura" (where we ate for dinner on day 2 and day 6) and "Origami Restaurant" (where we ate for dinner on day 3 and day 7) mentioned in this article have unfortunately been entirely closed, as I came to know yesterday.

My first impressions of Tokyo

A dream has become true: Vacation in Japan.
From 2019/09/04 to 09/17, I was, together with my brother, in Japan. Of these, we were from September 4th to 11th in Tokyo and for the remained days in Osaka. It was really exciting: Travelling to the Kantō region and then, to the Kansai region.
Meanwhile, over one week has passed since I've returned from my vacation. Of course, I'm missing Japan so badly.

At first, I tell you about part one of the Japan vacation, i.e. the time when we were in Tokyo:

Day 1 (2019/09/04)

At 12h15 (local time), we finally arrived in Tokyo, at the airport Tokyo-Haneda. Therefrom, we took a taxi which brought us to the hotel.
We've overnight in a hotel from the hotel chain Candeo Hotel which is in the district Ueno. While staying in Tokyo, this was, if you like, our base camp. In this hotel, there's a currency exchange machine too.
After making ourselves in the hotel and relaxing, my brother and me explored the quarter.

Our first dinner was in a rāmen restaurant in close vicinity to our hotel. I love rāmen (noodle soup). And it was a special feeling eating rāmen in its country of origin, Japan.

Day 2 (2019/09/05)

The Skytree and the nearby area

We went to the Tokyo Skytree which has verily impressed me. The view from the top is really magnificent.
Therein, we ingested soft ice cream and cold latte too. While my brother chose a latte with choco flavour, I took the matcha (green tea) flavoured one. Even the soft ice cream in Japan tastes 1000 times better than in Germany. I dunno why but I guess everyone who tried a soft ice cream in Japan can relate. But this is another matter

Anyways, the park near the Skytree, including the river, was also exciting! WOW!!!

In the same building, there is a mall too and moreover, an area with an automatic massage chair. You can insert 200 Yen (splitted in two 100 Yen coins) for a 15 minutes lasting massage. Really beneficial.
And by the way, 200 Yen equal €1.69/£1.50/US-$1.86

Then, we proceed toward to the district Asakusa where we did spontaneously a rickshaw tour. Note: A rickshaw is a traditional two or three-wheeled passenger cart. Really cool!
In the store Kiraku-ya, I bought a black kimono along with an obi (belt). Together, they costed 2000 Yen (16,89€/£15,02/18,60US$). A great deal, huh? So, if you wanna save money while buying a kimono, I can recommend that store.
Later that day, my brother and I ate in a Indian restaurant called Taizan Sakura for dinner which is also in Asakusa.

Day 3 (2019/09/06)

At first, we went again to the mall at the Skytree but not in the Skytree itself. To be exact, to the Pokémon Center within that mall. Exciting! No matter which branch: The variety of Pokémon-merchandise is really multifarious. The variety in Europe, including Germany, is nothing compared to it.

On the same day, we went to the mall Sunshine City in the district Ikebukuro too where is a further Pokémon Center-branch. Therein, I bough a plush-figure of Greninja. And before you ask the question: No, they only have normal Greninja but no Ash-Greninja. But it's not so bad.
Furthermore, the water fountain in Sunshine City is gorgeous.
Late afternoon, we eat in the Restaurant Origami Restaurant which is located in Asakusa. The dishes there are also delicious. I can really recommend it.

Day 4 (2019/09/07)

On that day, we went to the special ward Shibuya in the district Harajuku where are some malls too, especially the mall Omotesando Hill. Furthermore, Harajuku manifests an american flair.
Anyways, primarily, we went to Harajuku for the sake of food.

At first, we went to the pancake cafe Burn Side St. Cafe. It's one of many cafes serving the famous, fluffy pancakes, also known as hot cakes. Soooo delicious!

Later, we went to the All-You-Can-Eat-Café Maison Able Ron Ron, shortly Ron Ron. The various sorts of candies, among cakes and macaroons lying on the assembly belt table which you can take and put on your place. They even have dangos, the famous sweet dumplings on the skewer. The unique feature of Ron Ron according to All-You-Can-Eat-facilities is that the beverage is already included in the price instead paying extra for it.

The dinner took place in the sushi restaurant Genki Sushi which is obviously also located in Harajuku The order system is very different: You tap on a display on your table for ordering what you want and a few minutes later, it is "send" to you by a roller-coaster-like system. It was also surprising that they have french fries as well as a variety of desserts too.

Day 5 (2019/09/08)

The Tokyo Tower

On that day, we went to the Tokyo Tower in the special ward Minato. From the main deck as well as from the top deck, you have a magnificent view on Tokyo. Even the Skytree can be seen from this distance. Every visitor had an audio guide which can be adjusted in various languages, even in Germany. Experiencing more about the Tokyo Towers' genesis was really interesting.
In the same building, there is also the One Piece Tower, an area with exhibition, cafes, restaurant, shops and even a Poneglyphs scavenger hunt. Very cool that an exclusive ten minutes lasting anime special has been aired in a special chamber.
Of course, we also went to the quarter near the Tokyo Tower, including the park among the playground.

Later the day, we ate in the cafe-restaurant Gusto, located in the district Ueno, thus, near our hotel, for dinner. In Gusto, japanese as well as western dishes are served and more over, it's very cheap. Therein, I ate rice with shirmps and mushrooms along with a chocolate parfait and Bavarian Cream with matcha flavour.
Furthermore, there is also the All-You-Can-Drink-Feature in Gusto, in other words, you can refill your beverage cup over and over - for free, notabene. Exciting!

Day 6 (2019/09/09)

The electric city Akihabara

We visited the district Akihabara, aka, the electronic city. My bother as well as I bought respectively a smartphone protector at the electronic store Bic Camera, to be exact, an Urban Armor Gear. It's also really resilient. Worthy being recommend.
Moreover, we could play in a small store on the Super Nintendo FOR FREE. We played the game Street Fighter II - Turbo. Nostalgia over 8000!!!

In Akihabara, we also ate the famous Japanese crepes which aresuper delicious and verily worth its hype. The french crepes are nothing compared to it.
After this detour, we went at first to our hotel and brought our dirty laundry to a laundromat named Wash House near the hotel. Pretty convenient, huh?
Later the day, we ate one more time in the Indian restaurant Taizan Sakura in Asakusa.

Day 7 (2019/09/10)

The Tokyo Metropolitan

On that day, our adventures took place in the special ward Shinjuku where we visited at first the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. There is no fee and you have a beautiful view from the top too.
Then, we explored the quarter a bit and moved forward to the Yoyogi Park which is not in Shinjuku anymore but in Shibuya. And by the way, we had planned visiting the Shinjuku Gyoen - a park with a great Japanese garden - too but we hadn't enough time for it at the end of the day.
For diner, we went one more time to Origami Restaurant in Asakusa.

Of course, we also packed our bags too because one day later, we continued on Osaka.

Special-Post: Mein erstes Mal in Japan, Teil 1 - Tokyo

Edit 21.09.2021: Die in diesem Artikel erwähnten Restaurants "Taizan Sakura" (wo wir am Tag 2 und Tag 6 waren) und "Origami Restaurant" (wo wir am Tag 3 und Tag 7 waren) gibt es mittlerweile leider nicht mehr, wie ich gestern erfahren habe.

Meine ersten Eindrück von Tokyo

Ein Traum ist wahr geworden: Urlaub machen in Japan.

Im Zeitraum von 04.09.-17.09.2019 war ich in, zusammen mit meinem Bruder, in Japan. Davon waren wir vom 04.09.-11.09.2019 in Tokyo und den Rest in Osaka. Das war wirklich cool: Einmal in der Kantō-Region und danach in der Kansai-Region.

Mittlerweile ist es über eine Woche her, seit ich aus dem Urlaub wieder zurückgekehrt bin und natürlich vermisse ich Japan sehr.

Zunächst erzähle ich euch vom Teil 1 des Japan-Urlaubs, d.h. von der Zeit, in der wir in Tokyo waren:

Tag 1 (04.09.2019)

Um 12:15 Uhr Ortszeit kamen wir endlich in Tokyo an, und zwar im Flughafen Tokyo-Haneda. Von dort aus nahmen wir einen Taxi, der uns zum Hotel brachte.
Wir kamen ihm Candeo Hotel unter, welches im Stadtteil Ueno liegt und einer Hotelkette zugrunde liegt. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts in Tokyo war dieses Hotel unser Basislager. In diesem Hotel gibt es sogar einen Wechselautomaten, wo man jede Währung gegen Yen eintauschen kann.
Nachdem wir uns eingerichtet hatten und uns ein bisschen ausruhten, erkundeten mein Bruder und ich die Gegend.

Die erste Mahlzeit in Japan.

Unser erstes Abendessen in Japan fand in einem Rāmen-Restaurant statt, welches in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels liegt. Ich liebe Rāmen (Nudelsuppe). Selbstverständlich war es ein ganz besonderes Feeling, Rāmen im Herkunfsland Japan zu essen.

Tag 2 (05.09.2019)

Der Skytree und die nähere Umgebung

Wir besuchten den Tokyo Skytree, welcher im Stadtteil Sumida liegt. Der hat mich so richtig beeindruckt. Vor allem die Aussicht von ganz oben ist ziemlich gut.
Darin haben wir sogar Softeis gegessen und kalten Latte getrunken. Während mein Bruder einen Latte mit Schokogeschmack gewählt hat, hatte ich mich für die Variante mit der Geschmacksrichtung Matcha (grüner Tee) entschieden. Selbst das Softeis in Japan schmeckt besser als jener in Deutschland. Ich weiß nicht, wieso, aber jeder, der mal ein Softeis in Japan probiert hat, kann es bestätigen. Aber das ist ein anderes Thema.

Meine Wahl: Softeis mit Karamellsauce und Matcha-Latte

Jedenfalls hat mich der Park in unmittelbarer Nähe des Skytrees ebenfalls beeindruckt und der Fluss erst! WOW!!!

Im selben Gebäude, worin der Skytree untergebracht ist, befindet sich auch eine Mall und obendrein einen Bereich mit Automatik-Massagestühlen. Man kann 200Yen (in 2x 100Yen-Münzen) einwerfen und sich für 15 Minuten massieren lassen. Es hat mir so gut getan.
Und nebenbei, 200 Yen entsprechen ungefähr 1,69€/1,84CHF.

Anschließend machten wir uns auf dem Weg zum Stadtteil Asakusa, wo wir - spontanerweise - eine Riksha-Tour gemacht haben. Eine kleine Anmerkung, Rikshas sind kleine, zweirädrige, von einem Menschen gezogene Gefährte zur Personenbeförderung. Also etwas Traditionelles. Voll cool!
In dem Laden Kiraku-ya kaufte ich mir ein schwarzes Kimono zusammen mit einem Obi (Gürtel). Beides zusammen kostete 2000 Yen (16,89€/18,38CHF). Ein sehr guter Deal, nicht wahr? Also wer sich ein Kimono besorgen will, dem kann ich diesen Laden wärmstens empfehlen.
Noch am selben Tag aßen mein Bruder und ich in einem indischen Restaurant namens Taizan Sakura, welches sich ebenfalls in Asakusa befindet.

Tag 3 (06.09.2019)

Zunächst gingen wir noch mal zur Mall am Tokyo Skytree, aber nicht im Skytree selbst. Um genau zu sein, zum Pokémon Center, welcher sich darin befindet. Wahnsinn! Egal in welcher Pokémon-Center-Filiale man hingeht: Die Auswahl an Pokémon-Merchandise ist ziemlich vielfältig. Die Auswahl in Europa, inklusive Deutschland, ist ein Witz dagegen.

Noch am selben Tag begaben wir uns zur Mall Sunshine City im Stadtteil Ikebukuro, worin sich ebenfalls ein Pokémon Center befindet. Dort habe ich mir dann ein Produkt gekauft, und zwar eine Plüschfigur von Quajutsu. Und bevor jetzt die Frage kommt: Nein, sie haben nur normale Quajutsu und kein Ash-Quajutsu. Aber das macht nichts.
Ferner ist der Wasserbrunnen in Sunshine City voll mega schön.

Am späten Nachmittag nahmen wir das Abendessen im Restaurant Origami Restaurant ein, welches in Asakusa liegt. Dort ist es ebenfalls voll lecker. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Tag 4 (07.09.2019)

An dem Tag ging es zum Bezirk Shibuya, im Stadteil Harajuku, wo es auch mehrere Einkaufszentren gibt, darunter das Omotesando Hill. Des Weiteren weist Harajuku einen amerikanischen Flair auf.
Wir waren primär wegen des Essens in Shibuya.

Die Hot Cakes von Burn Side St. Cafe

Zunächst gibt es zum Burn Side St. Cafe, einem Pancake-Café. Es ist eines von vielen Cafés, in denen es diese berühmten, fluffigen Pancakes gibt, auch bekannt als Hot Cakes. Es war soooo lecker!

Der süße Traum, der real ist: Das
All-You-Can-Eat-Café Ron Ron

Später ging es zum All-You-Can-Eat-Café Maison Able Ron Ron, kurz Ron Ron. Die verschiedesten Sorten von Süßspeisen, darunter natürlich auch Kuchen und Macronen, liegen auf einem Fließbandtisch und man kann sie sich auf seinem Platz nehmen. Die haben sogar Dango, die berühmten süßen Klöße am Spieß. Was Ron Ron von den meisten gastronomischen All-You-Can-Eat-Einrichtungen abhebt, ist, dass das Getränk im Preis bereits enthalten ist und man dafür nicht extra zahlen muss.

Was man u.a. bei Genki Sushi 
essen kann

Unser Abendessen fand im Sushi-Restaurant Genki Sushi statt, welches sich natürlich ebenfalls in Harajuku befindet. Das Bestellsystem dort ist ganz anders: Am Tisch tippt man auf einem Display auf das, was man haben will und ein paar Minuten später kommt es - mittels Achterbahnfließband - direkt auf einen automatisch zu. Was mich ebenfalls überrascht hat, ist, dass es dort auch Pommes gibt und sogar eine vielfältige Auswahl an Desserts vorhanden ist.

Tag 5 (08.09.2019)

Der Tokyo Tower

An dem Tag besuchten wir den Tokyo Tower im Bezirk Minato. Sowohl vom Main Deck als auch vom Top Deck des Tokyo Towers hat man eine mega gute Aussicht auf ganz Tokyo. Selbst den Skytree kann auch dieser Entfernung sehen. Jeder Besucher hatte sogar einen Audioguide, den man in verschiedenen Sprachen einstellen kann, sogar auf Deutsch. Mittels Audioguide konnte man sogar Näheres über die Entstehungsgeschichte des Tokyo Towers erfahren. Ziemlich interessant.
Im selben Gebäude ist auch der One Piece Tower untergebracht, einen Bereich mit Ausstellung, Cafés, Restaurant und sogar einer Poneglyphen-Schnitzeljagd. Voll mega cool, dass dort in einem speziellen Raum sogar ein 10-minütiges exklusives Anime-Special gezeigt wurde.
Natürlich gingen wir auch durch die Gegend um den Tokyo Tower herum und gingen auch zum Park, worin sich ebenfalls ein Spielplatz befindet.

So sah meine Mahlzeit in Gusto aus

Noch am selben Tag gingen wir zum Café-Restaurant Gusto zu Abend essen. Es befindet sich im Stadtteil Ueno und befand sich somit in unmittelbarer Nähe unseres Hotels. In Gusto gibt es sowohl japanisches als auch westliches Essen und obendrein ist es voll mega günstig. Dort habe ich u.a. Reis mit Shrimps und Pilzen sowie ein Schoko-Parfait und bayrische Creme mit Matcha-Geschmack gegessen.
Und in Gusto gibt es sogar das All-You-Can-Drink-Feature, wodurch man immer wieder nachfüllen kann - kostenlos, versteht sich. Voll geil!

Tag 6 (09.09.2019)

Das Elektronikviertel Akihabara

Wir begaben uns zum Stadtteil Akihabara, dem berühmten Elektronikviertel. Sowohl mein Bruder als auch ich haben in einer Filiale der Elektronikkette Bic Camera jeweils eine Handyschutzhülle gekauft: Den Urban Armor Gear. Ist auch ziemlich robust. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
Außerdem konnten wir in einem kleinen Laden KOSTENLOS auf den Super Nintendo das Spiel Street Fighter II - Turbo zocken. Nostalgie pur!!!

Die japanischen Crêpes sind
ultra lecker

In Akihabara aßen wir auch diese berühmten japanischen Crêpes. Die sind super lecker und wahrlich ihren Hype wert. Die französischen Crêpes sind ein Witz dagegen.
Nach diesem Abstecher kehrten wir erst mal ins Hotel zurück und brachten unsere jeweilige Schmutzwäsche zu einem Waschsalon namens Wash House, der sich in Nähe des Hotels befindet. Ziemlich praktisch.
Noch am selben Tag gingen wir wieder zum indischen Restaurant Taizan Sakura im Stadtteil Asakusa essen.

Tag 7 (10.09.2019)

Das Tokyo Metropolitan
Government Building

An dem Tag fand das Abenteuer in Shinjuku statt, wo wir zunächst mal das Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building besuchten. Der Eintritt dort ist kostenlos und von ganz oben hat man ebenfalls eine wunderschöne Aussicht.
Anschließend erkundeten wir ein bisschen die Gegend und begaben uns zum Yoyogi Park, welcher sich jedoch nicht mehr in Shinjuku befand, sondern in Shibuya. Und nebenbei, wir wollten zwar sogar zum Shinjuku Gyoen, einem Park mit einem japanischen Garten, gehen, jedoch hatte es zeitlich nicht mehr gereicht.
Zum Abendessen gigen wir wieder ins Origami Restaurant in Asakusa essen.

Natürlich packten wir auch unsere Koffer, weil es am darauffolgenden Tag nach Osaka ging.
